QUEER FUTURES: BORN IN FLAMES IN NYC

If you're in NYC on the 26th I highly highly recommend going to see Lizzie Borden's brilliant not quite mockumentary Born in Flames! Featuring queer feminist bike gangs, radicals hijacking media outlets & a post-punk soundtrack featuring early Red Crayola & the Bloods. The Queer/Art/Film series, created by Adam Baran & Ira Sachs, provides contemporary queer artists with the means to showcase films by filmmakers who have affected their artwork. This month's film was picked by queer beauty Barbara Hammer! Hammer, a video & sound artist, will have her first U.S. retrospective next January at the MOMA! Previous artists to have curated the series include Anthony Hegarty, Rodney Evans & Justin Bond (who totally & obviously chose Ken Russel's The Devils).

Maybe take a trip during the day to the moma to see the Marina Abramovic show!
